Remembrance Day is a time when people stop to remember the sacrifice of others. We will be marking the day by supporting the Care for Veterans charity in a unique and personal way.
Care for Veterans, formerly the Queen Alexandra Hospital Home, provides residential nursing care, rehabilitation, respite and end of life care to physically disabled ex-Service personnel and their families.
The Care for Veterans facility in Worthing has 60 beds and cares for over 18s who have served in the Armed Forces or immediate family members of those who have served the country. It receives no regular government funding and needs to raise over £1.9 million each year to continue to provide first class care for its residents.
Pete Raynsford, Managing Director of 5 Rings Group explains: “I hadn’t heard of Care for Veterans until they became the charity of the year for our business park. After visiting the facility and meeting the amazing residents, I wanted us to do more to raise awareness of this vital service for our ex-Service personnel and their families.”
Our 11 for 11th campaign will run from mid-October until Remembrance Sunday. We will be raising awareness of Care for Veterans through shared profiles of 11 residents at Care for Veterans. Those viewing the profiles will be encouraged to make a donation to the charity via our Just Giving page. We will also be making a donation to Care for Veterans to kick start fundraising through this campaign.
