The Clock is Ticking – Windows 7 Support to End in 6 Months

On the 14th January 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or support for PCs running Windows 7. You can continue to use Windows 7, but once support ends, your PC will become more vulnerable to security risks and will quickly become outdated.

What does the end of support for windows 7 mean for your organisation?

Without vital security and system updates, you could be leaving yourself open to intrusions and malicious attacks.

Even though your devices will still work after the above deadline, technical support and guidance we all take for granted will no longer be available.

There’s no need to panic just yet…

You can still use Windows 7 for the rest of 2019.

However, Windows 7 users need to think about their options, as Windows 7 will soon be off Microsoft’s radar, with security and support networks being permanently closed down.

Your options are quite straightforward; you can upgrade your current operating system, or, replace old PC’s and laptops with new machines that will come with the most up-to-date operating system pre-installed.

Alternatively, Microsoft 365 Business comes with a free upgrade for users with a Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 Pro license on their device. By purchasing Microsoft 365 Business, users can upgrade all of their old Windows Pro licensed devices at no additional cost.
